“Helping people feel better in their bodies isn’t just my profession—it’s my passion and purpose.”

To ensure continuation, Dr. Rolf founded the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® (DIRI), in Boulder, Colorado, 1972. Only DIRI and its international affiliates can certify “Rolfing® Structural Integration practitioners” or, for short, Rolfers®.
Dr. Ida Pauline Rolf (1896-1979) is the founder of our work, she was a New York based biochemist with a passion for solving orthopedic problems, eventually developing this uniquely transformative work.
Rolfing is a form of bodywork that focuses on manipulating the body's connective tissues, primarily fascia, to improve posture, relieve tension, and enhance overall physical performance. Developed by Dr. Ida Rolf in the mid-20th century, this holistic approach aims to align the body more effectively with gravity, promoting a greater sense of well-being and vitality. Through a series of structured sessions, a trained Rolfer works to release restrictions in the fascia, allowing for improved movement and a healthier body structure, which leads to better physical function, emotional balance and overall health.
Even though we think of Rolfing as a type of massage, it is actually a modality that originated from osteopathy the practice of muscles, ligaments and tendons. Rolfing aligns the misaligned body to eliminate pain.
Rolfing can be intense but not intentionally painful.
It is a myth that Rolfing “fixes” injuries. However, regardless of whether the pain is either chronic or acute, Rolfing can help alleviate the pain.
Why try my work?
Unlike a massage, a Rolfing session targets specific areas of the body based on clients' concerns, such as pain in a leg. The session starts with a ten-minute assessment of your posture while standing, walking, and bending your knees. If the focus is on one leg, I'll inspect it from the hips to the feet on both legs. A typical Rolfing process involves working from the ribcage to the thighs and lower legs, gradually moving up to the head. The session lasts 70 minutes, during which I address your specific issue and follow the source of tension. Afterward, I'll reassess your movement and posture to see any changes. My aim is to help you move more freely and ease muscle restrictions.
Dress Code
For Rolfing sessions, clients are encouraged to wear light clothing such as running shorts and a tank top or a comfortable bra. Please either wear these garments underneath your clothes or bring them along to change into before your session. If you forget to bring appropriate attire, there’s no need to worry—I can accommodate whatever you’re wearing. Your comfort and ease during the session are my top priorities.
